Ice swimming
On April 1st , at the sauna Alma's 2nd birthday, newly crowned world champion in ice swimming Linn Krogh Hansen (55) gave an inspiring lecture: From pandemic therapy to World Championship gold, about her career and the choices she has made.
April 1st of this year marks two years since the sauna association opened its first sauna, and ice swimming fits right into the association's purpose, which is to promote good health through year-round swimming and sauna. We will create a sauna environment and activities that residents and visitors to Holmestrand can enjoy. #sprevarmen

Holmestrand sauna association was lucky enough to have Linn visit us for our celebration of the 2nd anniversary of sauna Alma. There was cake and bubbles for the 40 or so who attended and heard about her path to ice swimming and world records.
During the 2020 pandemic, she took up winter swimming and quickly developed an interest in competitions. She participated in the 2024 World Cup in Skellefteå, which was her first international ice swimming competition, and later in the Winter Swimming World Championships in Tallinn, where she won two gold medals and set a world record in the 50-meter breaststroke.
Later that year, she participated in the World Championships in Italy, where she set two new world records and won gold in the 50-meter and 100-meter breaststroke.
Linn is one of the few Norwegian athletes competing in ice swimming at an international level and is working to establish competitions in Norway. Linn's goal is to participate in the World Championships in Oulu in 2025 and help build a stronger Norwegian environment for this sport.
Linn is Norway's representative in the International Ice Swimming Association ( IISA ).
